  • Year 6 Crosby Lakeside Day 1

    We've all had a wonderful first day here at Crosby Lakeside Activity Centre, Year 6 have taken part in: Orienteering, Bell-boating, Paddle-boarding, Den-building and Campfires! We've even made our own bread and cooked it in the woods... delicious!

    We're all having a fantastic time and we've got another big day ahead of us tomorrow!

  • TEACHER STRIKE INFORMATION

    TUESDAY 5TH JULY 2016, CHILDREN IN YEAR 2 AND YEAR 4 WILL NOT BE IN SCHOOL DUE TO TEACHER STRIKE ACTION. SIBLINGS IN OTHER CLASSES WILL BE IN SCHOOL AS USUAL.
  • Year 3 and 4 Tag Rugby

    6 children from Year 3 and 6 from Year 4 attended a multi-school tag rugby competition as part of National Schools Sport Week.

    Our children were an absolute credit to the school and tried their best in the games, it was lovely to see the children congratulating other teams when they scored a try and shaking hands after the game. Excellent sportsmanship!

    In the end we came 5th after the Round Robin tournament and the children were happy with their result.

    A big thank you to the parents who attended the event and helped transport the children there and back.

  • Year 1 Multi-Sports

    Year 1 attended Greenbank High School today to take part in a multi-sports event with other primary schools as part of National Schools Sports Week.

     

    The children took part in lots of events; relay, bean-bag balancing, javelin, vertical jumping, standing jumping, ball throwing and many more!

     

    They all had a wonderful time and were fantastic ambassadors for our school. 

     

    Well done Year 1!

  • St Philip's EU Referendum

    Our thanks to Year 5 children who presented arguments both for and against leaving the European Union. They argued with clarity, confidence and conviction before the juniors were invited to cast their vote. The result differed from the national picture with the Remain campaign winning by a sizeable majority.
    Now we appreciate the value of elections and what a great responsibility it is to use your vote.
  • School Council take to the streets!

    Out thanks to the school council and Mrs Rachel Bray who started their audit of the local community this week. They recorded the use of every building and dropped off a questionnaire for our neighbours to complete. The process will take many weeks but it is great to have made a start.
  • BBC microbit experts

    On Wednesday this week, June 15th Year 5 were treated to special training in the computer suite of Christ the King High School. They were introduced to the BBC mocrobit technology which will be all the craze next year! Mr Henley, our teacher was most impressed with the pupil's considerable knowledge and enthusiasm.
  • The Sons of Pitches Show

    The Son of Pitches who won the BBC Competition for a capella singing in 2015 visited St Philips recently and led and assembly.

  • Remarkable Runners!

    Children from Year 5 and 6 did our school really proud this week taking part in the Sefton races at Victoria Park. Congratulations to all our runners and particularly to Grace who won her race.
  • School Council Serving Our Local Community

    Our thanks to the school council who spent this week helping to make King's Gardens a fine place to visit. If you walk along the pathway by the model village you will see small green boxes dotted along the route full of our 3D artwork. Why not have a look?
