At St Philip's we are proud to have been recognised by Music Mark, following our nomination from the SKY Music Hub, after demonstrating strong willingness and engagement in the development of our curricular and extra-curricular offer, related to improving music provision within our school; for our commitment and recognition of the value of music education as part of a broad and balanced curriculum; for facilitating a broad curriculum offer, which provides for all children.
Music Mark is the UK Association for Music Education; they champion and support access to music for all children and young people.
"Music Mark works to enable our members, and the wider music education sector, to deliver high-quality musical and social outcomes for all children and young people. We would like to thank you for all the hard work your school does to support our collective vision." - Music Mark
We are very pleased that all children in years 4, 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to learn a brass instrument, with lessons provided by Sefton Music Service. All children will begin to learn a brass instrument in our 'Wider Ops' sessions from the Spring Term when they are in Y4, until the end of Spring in Y5. In addition to this, children are invited to receive extra 1:1/small group tuition throughout this time, until they leave St Philip's in Y6.
Autumn 1 has seen the recommencement of two music clubs at St Philip's.
On Monday, our Brass Ensemble rehearse and on Tuesday, it's our School Choir rehearsal.
We are excited about our upcoming performances this year but more importantly we enjoy spending time supporting and encouraging each other during our time together each week.
Christ in everything we do!
