Year 6 enjoyed a great trip to the Atkinson today.

They used ipads and trialled an Augmented Reality trail in the permanent Egyptian museum.

They got to meet a real Egyptologist and see the temporary Mrs Goodison exhibition.

They got to handle real, Ancient Egyptian artefacts.

Everyone said that they had really enjoyed the experience!

History Ambassadors helped us learn about  chronology

They were dressed in historical costumes and they told us what it was like to be alive in the different eras of British history.

We started back with a lesson all about World War One.

We'd like as many children as possible to enter one of the national competitions here to mark the centenary of this war ending in 1918. We've already had several entries. These can be poems, art work or music.

Year 6 are now doing lessons to develop map skills.

These include knowing where some of the basic features of world geography are such as the 7 continents and 5 oceans. They also include learning how to use OS maps with features such as scale and grid references.
