Broadhurst bookshop and The Atkinson Trip
Year 2 had a creative,fun and informative morning.
We were made welcome at Broadhurst bookshop,finding out more about the Titanic which we have been researching for our history topic. The chidren enjoyed selecting a book of their choice using their World Book Day tokens.
At the Atkinson we explored the Matisse exhibition and enjoyed an informative introduction to his work. This was followed by a fun workshop creating collages inspired by his work, using skills learned in our art lessons.
Jane Brown who delivers the 'Painting of the Month' talks was impressed with Year Two's extensive knowledge of Matisse and their excellent behaviour throughout.
