What a wonderful occasion it was yesterday, in the glorious sunshine, as our whole school celebrated the 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll.
We had had a very busy week in preparation for the celebration completing our Tudor monarch oil pastel portraits for display, rehearsing the song 'Greensleeves', making crowns and learning snippits about the life of our Queen and her family.
There were fairy cakes to be iced in red, white and blue, bunting to be made and hung and party food to be brought in. Year 4 looked amazing dressed in the colours of the Union flag too.
Everyone met in the Junior playground, wearing their crowns, for a procession and the judging of each Year's best crown. Shortly after, parents started to arrive and at 2.30pm we enjoyed listening to each class's presentation in honour of our Queen. We concluded the celebration with our school band leading us as we sang the National Anthem. "God save the Queen"
These photo's will show you just what we got up to - enjoy!
