Sons of Pitches came to visit!
We had the most fantastic assembly this morning (16th May) when Sons of Pitches came and gave us a workshop on singing acapella - that is making the instrument sounds with our voices. They entertained us too, singing 'Uptown Funk' superbly. I have to admit, the children sang brilliantly too and learned how to build up an acapella song by starting with the bass line, adding a rhythm line and some harmonies before completing the job with the addition of the main tune. Joe, one of the group, is an old St Philip's pupil and also the son of Mrs Hinds, so it was a welcome return to school for him.
Don't forget: Sons of Pitches are singing at the Atkinson on Thursday 2nd June and tickets are still available for what promises to be a great concert judging by our taster today!
