Year 5 had a fantastic day at the Liverpool Cathedral. We started our day practising Mexican waves with our new police friends. Once inside we learnt all about a famous World War 1 soldier called Noel Chavasse, we went back in time and met Giles Gilbert Scott (Cathedral architect) and he showed us how to make arches. We were really good at that!! After lunch we met Kitty Wilkinson and learnt all about how she single handedly helped to slow the spread of Cholera in Liverpool, which led to the first wash house in the country. She even has a part in the stained glass window by the Lady Chapel. Finally we made our own stained glass windows. We had such a wonderful day! Please see our pictures below.
