Our Trips in Reception 

Over the course of the year we enhance the children's learning by going on wonderful class trips to consolidate the learning in our classroom. We love going on outdoor adventures but rest assured, all trips are fully risk assessed and we always encourage parents to let come us know if they are free to come along and help. Have a read of some of our scheduled trips. Occasionally if suitable opportunities arise, we may also consider additional trips subject to interest. 

•  Lidl Trip
  • Handa's Surprise inspired trip to Lidl to buy fruit to investigate our likes, dislikes, texture, size, shape, colour and fruit names. We also use the fruit to retell the story of Handa's Surprise and learn loads about shopping, money, getting change, using our manners when speaking to the staff in Lidl and how to stay safe when walking along the street and in choosing healthy food.

• Bridge Trip 
  • Inspired by The Billy Goat's Gruff, we visit local bridges examining shape, materials and function. We also observe the environment around us; noticing similarities and differences and changes that have occurred. 

• Summer Trip to Imagine That at Underwater Street 
  • A fascinating trip to Underwater Street where the children can explore a vast world of imaginative play, water and sand areas, science experiments and giant bubble machines, We also take part in various workshops run by amazing scientists. A trip not to be missed!
