Children's Mental Health awareness week Feb 2026

Our school recently marked Mental Health Awareness Day with a special themed experience built around the message: “This Is My Place.” Rooted in our Christian vision and values, the day reminded us that every child is uniquely created, deeply loved by God and has a special place within our school family.
Throughout the day, children travelled around different classrooms, taking part in a range of creative and reflective activities led by teachers across the curriculum. Each subject explored the theme in a meaningful way:
In RE, pupils reflected on belonging, identity and the Christian belief that we are all made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). They explored how faith helps us feel secure, valued and never alone. We thought about how God wants us to treat others and how we can make our classrooms and school a safe space for everyone.
Geography - children discussed where their happy place is.
In Computing, pupils considered how to create positive and respectful online spaces, reflecting on how we can show kindness and integrity in all areas of life.
Through Art, children thought about how special and unique we are. Years 2,3 and 4 created hot air balloons - where can a positive mindset take us? Year 5 and 6 thought about how a positive mindset can have a positive impact on our mental health.
English session included 'The way I feel' book which focuses on emotions.
In Science, children explored how our brains and bodies respond to different emotions- and how physical exercise can help us to manage our emotions.
Dance gave pupils the opportunity to express themselves with confidence and joy, celebrating the gifts and talents each person brings.
The children were highly engaged throughout the day, moving thoughtfully between classrooms and embracing each new activity. It was wonderful to hear meaningful conversations about identity, friendship and faith, and to see pupils encouraging one another.
We ended the day with a special whole-school worship. Mental Health Awareness Day was a joyful and powerful reminder that this truly is a place where every child is known, valued and supported — because this is God’s place for us to grow together.
Speak out, stay safe Autumn 1 2024
The whole school has been thinking about how to keep ourselves safe using the NSPCC resources. We thought about the different types of abuse , who our safe adults are and what to do if we feel sad or worried about anything.
