Stottesdon Day 2

We survived our first night!!! All of the children, and adults, slept well and were refreshed for an action packed day today. After breakfast the children were put in to 3 groups, each goup rotated around the activities. By lunch time all of the children had tried slack lining, caving, Jacob's ladder and the leap of faith. Yes you heard correctly folks, ALL of the children. They have been absolute stars and are getting stuck in.

This afternoon the children were in teams of 5 and participated in an activity called 'Water Porter'. This involved them working together to transport an egg, a rubber duck and a balloon around a very muddy and wet obstacle course without losing their equipment. They were faced with plenty of buckets of muddy stream water (just happening to be tipped on them), a dunk in the stream and a slide down the side of a bank into oncoming water (thrown by very kind instructors!!) ALL of the children made it through and even had time for an extra slide and water fight at the end.

We have now had dinner and the children are playing some games working up an appetite for the tuck shop. Im not convinced that a sugar rush at bedtime is going to do me any favours this evening although they are all well and truly worn out from today's excursions.

As chief photographer I have done a grand job today and have taken 236 photos. I couldn't miss the opportunity to snap them climbing the pole for the leap of faith. Please bear with me as the photos load.......
