Native Americans
We did a unit that combined history and geography to study Native American culture. There were costumes to try on. We drew our own totem pole faces which now guard the entrance to the Year 6 classroom.
We finished with a piece of writing. Some did a biography of an imaginary member of the Sioux. Some did a reveal report on how unfair it was that in the past these people were considered savage.
