Music

At St Philip's we are proud to have been recognised by Music Mark, following our nomination from the SKY Music Hub, after demonstrating strong willingness and engagement in the development of our curricular and extra-curricular offer, related to improving music provision within our school; for our commitment and recognition of the value of music education as part of a  broad and balanced curriculum; for facilitating a broad curriculum offer, which provides for all children.

Music Mark is the UK Association for Music Education; they champion and support access to music for all children and young people.

"Music Mark works to enable our members, and the wider music education sector, to deliver high-quality musical and social outcomes for all children and young people. We would like to thank you for all the hard work your school does to support our collective vision." - Music Mark

Music Tuition

We are very pleased that all children in years 4, 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to learn a brass instrument. All children will learn a brass instrument as part of their curriculum music from the start of Y4, until the end of Y5. In addition to this, children are invited to receive extra 1:1/small group tuition with lessons provided by Sefton Music Service throughout this time, until they leave St Philip's in Y6.

Music Clubs

Autumn 1 has seen the recommencement of our School Choir rehearsal on a Tuesday and we are delighted that we are now able to give children the chance to learn Ukulele after school on a Thursday.

We are excited about our upcoming performances this year but more importantly we enjoy spending time supporting and encouraging each other during our time together each week.

Christ in everything we do!
