Phonic Songs

Songs to help with Phonics in Phase 1 and 2

We use Phonics Play to support our delivery of Phonics from the start of Reception. We know how much young children love  a whole body approach so we use Jolly Phonics songs to help.

With actions for each of the 42 letter sounds, the multi-sensory method is a fun way for our youngest children as they begin to formalise their phonic journey.

  • Set 1: s, a, t, p.
  • Set 2: i, n, m, d.
  • Set 3: g, o, c, k.
  • Set 4: ck, e, u, r.
  • Set 5: h, b, f, ff, l, ll, ss.

Phonics Letter Sounds (British English)

Listen to the 42 letter sounds of Jolly Phonics, spoken in British English. Each letter sound is clearly spoken twice, before an example word is given.

Don't forget to look at the Phonics Play Website too, there are lots of games that you can play at home with your child.  Their log in is in their homework book.
