Welcome to our Year 3 reading page.

Here you will find information about how we support reading in school and how you can help your child develop confidence, fluency and a love of books at home.

Reading is a key part of our learning in Year 3. Children will take part in daily reading activities, including independent reading, class story time, and opportunities to explore a wide range of texts across the curriculum.

We encourage children to read regularly at home and to share their reading with an adult. This supports your child in developing a lifelong love of reading. Your child will bring home a reading book and reading record. Please sign the record each time you read together so we can celebrate their progress in school.

We will also update this page with any reading challenges, recommended reads and useful resources throughout the year.
