Real PE at home – online learning resources
real PE at home includes an online programme which supports families to be active, play and learn together. For children in Key Stage 2 there are carefully selected personal best challenges, skills and games designed for the home and garden. Daily and weekly guidance is provided for both programmes in addition to an option to choose your own themes and activities.
There are so many benefits to being active, not only to our physical wellbeing but also to our emotional and mental health, especially in such testing times for all of us. We hope that the ideas help support you and your family to stay fit and healthy in the coming months. Here are the details to access real PE at home:

National Sports Week At Home W/b 20th June
With young people set to miss out on their main school sport day this summer, the Youth Sport Trust is taking its annual National School Sport Week campaign beyond the school gates to parents and families - reinvented as National School Sport Week at Home.
Taking place from 20 to 26 June, the UK-wide campaign will give families, communities, schools and sports clubs the chance to capture the enjoyment, competition and camaraderie they have been missing out on during weeks of school closures and social distancing.
Please send me photographs of you completing the challenges!
Friday 26th June
I hope everyone has managed to have a try of some of the National Sports Week challenges. Please email any pictures that you have.
This week in our PE session I would like you to have a go of the 'Triple jump'. Use the PowerPoint below to practise your technique and to give you some ideas to help you learn how to do it. Maybe someone else in your family can have a try too!!!!
Friday 19th June
Next week it is National Sports Week at home. Look through the activities on 'Athletics' in the activities pack and practise some of the challenges ready for next week.
Friday 12th June
This week we are thinking about sprinting.
'A sprint race is a short powerful burst of speed – you must try to run as fast as you can for the whole distance – you can rest afterwards.'
I have included a PowerPoint to help you practise your sprinting technique. There are some drills to try out and some tips to get faster. Remember sprint right through the finish line! Don't worry if you cannot do all of the activities as they require more people!
Friday 5th June
This half term we will be working on our Athletics. Hopefully you will remember some of the things you learned in your Year 3 lessons and you will be able to build on your skills. Try to look at the Sports Cubed challenges on YouTube or ask an adult to look on Facebook for you. These often involve Athletics skills.
Look at the PowerPoint below and try to complete the activities (you may have to adapt the activities using different equipment and number of people.) Try to run continuously for 5 minutes to build up your stamina. Over the next few weeks increase the time you can run continuously.
I would love to see some photos of you carrying out your physical activity.
